Twin Cities Business Marketing | Avoid These 6 Mistakes

Get found, Convert, Analyze - Increase sales, Targeted results.

Twin Cities Business Marketing is not easy, it is however do-able.  Avoid these 6 pitfalls for a website that adds to your revenue objective for 2011.

Twin Cities Business Marketing

  • No goals.

A lot of people come to me saying, "I want a website." or "I want more business" I ask them, "What do you want it to do?" And they don't really know.  Put the time / energy into knowing where is it you are trying to get to, and how you are going to do it.  Minneapolis market research is an extension of your business plan.

  • Unprofessional writing.

It's easy to get so wrapped up in web design.  What looks good to you,  doesn’t always translate positively to the visitor.  Test, test, test with those people that fit the profile of your target market.  Good writing is far more important than bling, and great copy from a professional content writer will get your phone ringing.

  • Lack of 'Wow'

Maximize the seconds you have with web visitors - your potential prospects - will give you only seconds to wow them. Do you have your best stuff for every page? I mean the good stuff that fits well with the keywords used to get to that page.  A website has many pages; the home page is not the best page for everyone to start.

  • No credibility.

Can web visitors check out your reputation on the web?  Make sure your website comes as close as possible to feeling like a warm, personal visit with you. Do this by posting valuable content designed to build credibility (like Free Online SEO Tools).  Show you know your ‘Stuff’.

  • No way to capture interested visitors / leads.

People warm up slowly. Your web visitors might be interested in you but are not quite ready to call you or buy anything yet.  Keep track of those ‘warm leads’.  Get them on an E-mail list for periodic ‘touches’.  Not everyone is ready to buy today, and they don’t always remember ‘you’.  Help them stay connected.

  • Not marketing your site.

How can you say you've spent all your money doing everything right, but you don't market your site?  Not getting any visitors is the same as not having a website at all.

The pearls of good online marketing start with a proper plan, then capture your target market with providing valuable information that builds credibility / trust throughout the buying process.
