Content Marketing | Day 1 Quality Content Rules
Get found, Convert, Analyze - Increase sales, Targeted results.
Content marketing online is
extremely easy to do
This in itself has led to high amounts of data across many industries, so who do you choose, what matters? The challenge is high, so we think that quality matters. Anyone can talk quality, but the goal here is to deliver useful content that is highly targeted towards the specific market.
According to the Content Marketing Institute, an organization that provides research and education on content marketing, “93% of marketing professionals create, or plan to create content marketing as part of their overall programs in the next year.”
Content alone will not get you customers, it has to be put in the right places to work for you. Blogging, tweeting, and fresh content on your web pages are wonderful for building 'brand', awareness as well as getting others to share. The other enormous opportunity is how fresh, well written / implemented content feeds Google's latest complex algorithms for getting found through search (much of what defines SEO lead generation). Feed it well, feed it often and ye will be rewarded. Forget to do so and your audience will go to someone who will. Did I mention that this content must be specific in nature and meaningful to the end user / visitor? Remember, the goal is to engage visitors and build trust for them to move forward towards you.
We have to give to get. Do not try to side step this, our world demands two way communication, excellent two way communication.
Business marketing strategy: Having clear business objectives rule online
The top five goals for content marketing should include (but not be limited to:)
- Branding
- Loyalty / Retention
- Thought Leadership
- Inbound Marketing / SEO lead generation
- Sales
Remember, in order for any of these goals to be met, content must be; customer focused, authentic, entertaining and compelling.
Value is based on the experience for the person receiving. We give value in order to earn the right to communicate with our visitors. This is the most important aspect of reach / connection. Now, content marketing is not the most glamorous of topics, yet it carries with it reason to continue to find / receive more to the targeted visitor.
Today's businesses need to forget about predicting future product / service improvements and focus on being adaptable / agile. To move quickly and implement proactively is to be on top of your game.
Bottom line:
- Anyone can do it, not everyone can do it well enough to grab the attention of your highly targeted audience.
- The high majority of marketers/ business owners agree that content marketing is here to stay, invest, invest.
- Be very aware of your business objectives, measure all of it, test it, measure it monthly on an ongoing basis. Things will change, unless you keep an eye on performance (competitors included), you could go six months and never know that you've lost / competition won.
- Be adaptable and know the landscape you compete in.
