You have even more choices for advertising and connecting with your target market.  Spending your way to success is a factor in building a business, no doubt, as long as you spend with ROI built into the equation, not looked at long after the money has left your bank.  Minneapolis Inbound Marketing answers the ROI question.

 

Everyone seems to be offering up tools, methods, and creative ways to advertise online.  What does advertising do for you?  This is where I (the sales person selling you a website design) state, blah, blah, blah and tell you why 'My option fits into your business'.  Again, blah, blah, blah.  Oh, yes I don't sell website redesigns.

 

Reading this means you are considering a few options for spending your dollars to reach your intended audience, OK, all well and good.  What happens when you actually reach your audience?

 

Good Inbound Marketing gives visitors what they want, when they want it.  Are you?

And most importantly, can you prove it?  Does the material presented give you relevant data on how well your pages are performing?  Are they making the personal decision to connect with you by filling out a form or connecting in a measurable way?

 

I cannot say it enough, the buyer is in control here.  They have so many options for gathering information to turn into knowledge that, if you don't focus on what they want, well they will look elsewhere.  Who cares about design when they aren't even spending time on your site?  (70% of searchers are seeking a solution to their problem, not fancy design)

 

Again, the importance is that no matter the medium used for connecting with your audience, it is what comes next that is the most important.  Buyers are 'test driving your data' to see if it fits into their situation (the way they see it, not the way you see it).  Websites (and those in charge of delivering ROI) need to take into account the need for what works (a lot more than what looks good).

 

This is why testing is so important.  Web designers are not going to push testing as well as those interested in higher ROI (inbound marketers).  The results are not the web page, the results are in the bottom line sales.
