Inbound Marketing in Colorado

...why it is so relevant

Colorado small business alert.  Inbound Marketing is not about Increasing traffic.  It is about increasing quality connections that lead to conversions in revenue form.

Who wants to spend employee hours screening out calls that are either geographically incorrect, or not directly related to your intended market?  How much are you spending in employee hours?  $15/hour, 90 minutes/day, =$450/month, $5400/year, $0.00 ROI.  A very conservative estimate of what small companies really spend, or waste.

Traditional business practices have relied on phone conversations to qualify prospective customers.  Higher traffic -not = to increase in ROI.  The internet and inbound marketing processes are specifically designed to facilitate shorter selling cycles and stronger connections with targeted traffic.

This does not equal more traffic, this means higher quality traffic.  Search engines have adopted higher efficiencies in identifying well tuned websites for delivering results to their audience.  What does that mean?  I would rather show you 25% less traffic in 2 months, with 35% more overall conversions / sales.  Yes, this is very realistic.

Search engines produce highly accurate rankings for those companies that target their markets.  This is an ongoing process.  If you haven't updated, tested, challenged your analytics, keywords, content creation tactics in the last month (not years), than you will reap what you sow.  I have watched ranking change in seconds, because someone else is putting out quality content, or you are.  Cause = effect.

If time is our stable constant, and  quality information available increases, than the urgency and action to keep up must also increase (frequency and targeted quality).

Yesterday's action of 12 month revisions are long gone to the savvy business that keeps up-to date on website performance.

The reality as an online marketer is that many cannot see the upside of using your well tuned website to weed out unprofitable customers. Do you feed information and trust to worthy customers who will buy more, tell their friends more, and build a long term loyalty with you?  Better targeting = Shorter Sales Cycle = Improved Customers

Going over internet SEO principles are easy to talk about, yet digging into the tactics that prove themselves (results) behind Inbound Marketing offer up questions / insights to inbound marketing.

  • Does a landing page really have teeth to engage / deliver?
  • How much information does one have to offer up before a potential customer turns into a lead?
  • What actions are necessary to engage and build credibility?
  • Moving a lead to a paying customer is one of the key factors that keeps the lights on and the business afloat.
  • Pushing away those who will not end up being a valued customer is also important, who wants to spend time weeding out the weak?
Transparency  takes serious effort.  Testing every page, every landing page, every form demonstrates how well your doing.  Having a new site brings out real data on how well your doing.  Sometimes the move to another form or tactic on a page leads you to negative momentum.
