Search engines produce highly accurate rankings for those companies that target their markets. This is an ongoing process. If you haven't updated, tested, challenged your analytics, keywords, content creation tactics in the last month (not years), than you will reap what you sow. I have watched ranking change in seconds, because someone else is putting out quality content, or you are. Cause = effect.
If time is our stable constant, and quality information available increases, than the urgency and action to keep up must also increase (frequency and targeted quality).
Yesterday's action of 12 month revisions are long gone to the savvy business that keeps up-to date on website performance.
The reality as an online marketer is that many cannot see the upside of using your well tuned website to weed out unprofitable customers.
